Robert Young, set 13
21st May, 1996
Dear Robert,
As you know, we have recently been counting the votes of staff and students as part of the process by which we elect prefects. Unfortunately, you were not chosen to serve on the prefect body. While this may be a disappointment to you, may we say that we hope very much that despite the fact that you will not be carrying out specific prefects' duties you will continue to be fully involved in all aspects of school life. This would include offering advice and guidance to younger pupils as appropriate; accepting positions of responsibility in House, sporting, music, drama and other activities; becoming involved in the school's developing PSE programme; providing role models for younger pupils; serving on various committees and helping with the planning and subsequently the management of the new Sixth Form Centre.
We believe that all our senior students have a great deal to offer which contributes enormously to both the smooth running of the school and the very positive atmosphere within the school - this is greatly appreciated.
With best wishes, | ||
Yours sincerely, | ||

MY ARSE!!! Amazing. I fall off my chair with laughter:-) I found this letter the other day during a clearout of my box of scrap paper. I'd somehow managed to forget about it. How could I? It's comedy gold! If you liked this, tell me, and I'll transcribe the letter I got from the Warwick accommodation office before the start of my second first year.
